Design

Good website design is a balance between form and function, so our sites combine practicality with quiet design.

In order to maximise the amount of time an audience spend looking at your content, a site needs to be intuitive and enjoyable to use.

Navigation needs be clear and self-explanitory, all parts of the site should be simple to access and sites should function on a wide range of systems.

Our sites are built to be economical in their physical size. All elements are carefully laid out to fit into a small space whilst retaining functionality. This means that larger images can be used without users having to scroll down to see the complete picture. As many people are now browsing the internet with devices with smaller screens, a physically smaller site makes more sense. Text-based pages which do not need to be seen all at once scroll vertically in order to allow more information per page.

The purpose our websites is to showcase your work, not ours. For this reason, the design of our sites does not try and compete with the content. Graphical elements draw the eye from the content, so our graphics are simple, functional and kept to a minimum. We believe that the best solution for visually-led practices is an elegant, carefully planned design which keeps the content as its focus.

We build sites using HTML to ensure broad compatibility and to maximise search engine indexing of your site. This will increase the ranking of your site in Google, Yahoo etc which is often a problem with sites built with Flash.

A website acts as an resource for your practice and provides a good overview of your work. A good website engages an audience and acts as a first port of call between yourself and those interested in your work. A professional online profile, which is up-to-date and visible to search engines, provides an audience with an invaluable resource for your work.
